Be Less Busy, Get More Results

Being busy and getting results are not the same thing. In fact, the most successful people always have more free time because they have mastered the secrets of managing their day. In order to work effectively and get results, there are a few simple actions you can take… starting now. Here are three good ones:

1. Get Up An Hour Earlier. Did you know people are generally 40% more productive in the morning than in the afternoon? And if you give yourself that extra quiet time to focus and plan and get centered, you will see better results in all areas of your life. Just think how it will feel by 9am if you have already had 2 or 3 hours of planning and positive activity! Plus, one extra hour a day is 7 extra hours a week to enjoy. And because you will be more effective in how you work, and cut out all the distractions, you could potentially do in 3 hours what used to take you 6, and add another 15 hours of free time to your week as well.

2. Have a CLEAR goal. Just one. After you reach it, you can move on to other goals but don’t try to do too many things at once or you really won’t get much done at all. Know exactly what you need to do, by when, and how. Visualize yourself achieving the goal and how it will feel. You could even make a dream board to help you picture the end result.

3. Write down 5 things you need to do TODAY that are directly related to reaching your goal.  People procrastinate when they are stuck or when they are unsure of what to do next. They waste time, download videos, grab a snack, and before long, the day has passed and you haven’t done much. By focusing on 5 specific things you need to get done that day in order to reach your goal, you will be able to zero in on what needs doing with laser focus. When the 5 things are accomplished… reward yourself with doing something you really love in your new free time. Time is the best gift you can give yourself… especially if you are a busy mom.

Like many things in life, these three steps are simple but not always easy. They are so common-sense that it is too easy not too take them seriously. But if you are serious about your business, then implementing these three strategies into your busy day, will be well worth it. It takes discipline to change habits. But if you do them consistantly, with no breaks, for 30 days, I promise you, your business and life will be in much better shape a month from now. And you will get more results AND be less busy.
