A Little About Me…

Hi, my name is Rebecca and my goal is to help empower as many moms (and dads) as possible to take control of their lives both financially and physically, and to make positive changes in your life. Especially, for those with a small business or who are struggling trying to build a network marketing company, I want to help you use the internet to reach your target market and find people who are in the same mindset.

One of my driving forces is to be able to teach my kids to create financial abundance for themselves.

Kids of today are going to face many financial challenges in the future. There will be much more competition for traditional jobs, and job security will be almost non-existent. The world is changing quickly and the kids of tomorrow are going to have to think much more creatively to what they are taught in school. They will need to develop entrepreneurial skills and leadership qualities and think outside the box in order to create a life of abundance for themselves. Let's help them think big and have confidence.

On this site, I want to give you ideas and tips for empowering yourself with online marketing skills, being an example for your kids, and for 'owning' you life. If you already have a business… great. I want to help you build it using the internet. If not, this site will give you many ideas about starting an online business of your own including network marketing, affiliate marketing, content marketing and blogging. If you are looking for a change then you may have found this site for a reason.

But first here's a little bit about me so you know who I am…

I graduated from the University of Guelph in French and Fine Art, and decided to travel, see the world, and ‘find myself’ before settling into a life routine.

First, I headed to Australia and Asia for a year. It was wonderful time and I met an incredible family of international friends along the way and learned that if you are happy doing what you are doing, then you attract good things. One year turned into a lot longer because I was having so much darn fun.

So I kept going…I spent two years in France studying, a year in BC working in hospitality, and 5 years in Japan teaching English. In Japan I bumped into an old friend from University and we fell in love, found a great house in the rice paddies of Nagano, and started our own English school there, as well as a hiking/biking tour company for foreigners living or visiting Japan.

When we finally decided to leave Japan we moved back to Canada and started an Aussie Gourmet Pie shop in Whistler, BC (2000) with another couple. But we made a stop in Costa Rica on the way home and got married first.

With me working days in the pie shop and my husband working nights, we were incredibly busy but decided to start a family. Keenan was a well planned baby and we did a 3 month cleanse before we conceived him. In the big picture of things, we had our own business but I was feeling rather stuck because we had taken a HUGE loan from the bank and were working like crazy just to cover expenses. Luckily… we didn’t end up getting along with our partners… and we had the good fortune of selling our half to them after 2 sweaty, pie filled years. A good lesson learned:)

We moved to Palm Springs, California for the next 4 years, where my husband was working with a friend buying land and building funky, mid-century modern homes. We had a wonderful home birth for our second child, Tanyss down there and I was a full time stay at home mom. Hanging out in the park and being a ‘desert mom’ was fun but I started to want to add something to my life. I was not ‘allowed’ to work in the US but at a health festival in the park one day, I discovered network marketing.

I did research on what network marketing is all about and found that it is a business model that I liked. I saw it as a way to be home with my kids and as you know, having kids changes you forever. It also changes how you want to spend your time, and what you value in life. I like to ALWAYS keep an open mind, especially when it comes to creating time freedom in my life for my family, and so I jumped in. I thrive on doing new things, and pushing myself beyond my comfort zone.

To make a long story short, I went through the usual struggles of any new network marketer and finally realized…

Network Marketing is tricky. But… it is just like any other business model in that if you know how to market… you will have success. Unfortunately, I had no marketing experience and that is why I struggled. I also found out that most people who jump into a home based business do not have any marketing experience and that is why 95% struggle. Network marketing is simple but it is a business. If you want to reach more people, just like in any business, you absolutely need to learn some marketing strategies to get in front of them. And the internet is the best ‘networking’ and ‘marketing’ tool available to us all… for free! So I jumped in and started to learn as much as I could and apply it.

There was a big learning curve… but I knew I was on the right path… 

I looked at a LOT of companies and leaders, and found a LOT of great products, and I went through a huge learning curve in internet marketing. 

What I figured out in the end, is that you have to be in alignment with your heart and your passions before you can have success in network or in internet marketing. So Moms With Vision is about helping stay at home moms grow yourself first, find your true heart's passion, and then learn how to market your business in a way that is unique to you. It's about empowering moms to create the financial and time freedom in your life that you so deserve. It is also a very important lesson to our children to be following our hearts and to be happy in who we are first and foremost.
